Privacy Policy
Last updated June 1, 2026
[BUSINESS ADDRESS]) and any jurisdiction-specific rights (GDPR/CCPA, etc.) should be finalized with counsel before launch. This Privacy Policy explains how CARDEDGE LLC (“cardedge,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the cardedge app, the getcardedge.com website, and vendor shop pages (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
- Account & profile — your name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), and optional profile photo.
- Shop & business details — shop name, URL slug, logo, brand color, description, social handles, and the payment handles you choose to display to customers (e.g. Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, and any Zelle QR image you upload).
- Inventory, sales & trade data — the cards you add (names, conditions, grades, cert numbers, quantities, prices, cost basis), photos you capture, and records of sales, buys, and trades.
- Team data — accounts, roles, and inventory access you grant to team members.
- Shopify data (if you connect it) — your store domain, an access token, product/variant/inventory identifiers, location mappings, and order/refund information needed to keep your store and cardedge in sync.
- Device & usage data — a push-notification token (if you enable notifications), app/version diagnostics, and usage and error/performance data used to operate and improve the Service.
- Optional analytics — aggregate market/analytics features are opt-in at the vendor level and off unless you turn them on.
- Shop-visitor data — when someone visits your public shop, we process basic page-view and request data to render and improve the pages. Public shop browsing does not require a customer account.
We do not collect precise device location. (Location-based features were removed; an Android location permission may still be requested only as a technical requirement for connecting to the cardedge label printer over Bluetooth, and no location data is gathered or stored.) We also do not store full customer payment-card numbers — payments between you and your customers run through your own payment apps, and any future subscription billing is handled by a payment processor that stores card details on its own systems.
2. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service — accounts, inventory, pricing, labels, buying/trading, and your public shop.
- To sync with Shopify when you connect it, in both directions, as described in How it works.
- To send transactional messages (e.g. email verification, password reset) and, if enabled, push notifications.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, debug, and improve the Service.
- To provide market-pricing and, only if you opt in, aggregate analytics features.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run the Service:
- Shopify — when you connect your store, we exchange product, inventory, pricing, and order data with Shopify on your behalf.
- Service providers (subprocessors) — vendors that host our infrastructure and database, deliver email, send push notifications, provide error/performance monitoring, and supply catalog/market-pricing data. Catalog lookups send card identifiers (not your personal information) to fetch pricing.
- Your public shop — information you choose to publish (inventory, prices, shop branding, payment handles) is, by design, visible to anyone who visits your shop pages.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the Service.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
A current list of subprocessors is available on request at support@getcardedge.com.
4. Information about your customers
When you sell or trade through cardedge, any customer details you record (such as a name on a sale) are your data, processed by us on your behalf. You are responsible for handling your customers' information lawfully and for any privacy notices your jurisdiction requires you to give them.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion as described below; some records (e.g. sales history) may be retained where required.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords. Shopify access tokens and similar credentials are stored to operate the integration. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices & rights
- Access & correction — view and edit most of your data in the app, or contact us.
- Analytics — aggregate analytics sharing is opt-in; you can turn it off at any time in settings.
- Notifications — manage push notifications on your device.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
- Disconnecting Shopify — disconnect at any time; we stop syncing and unlink your items while keeping your local records. [Add jurisdiction-specific rights (e.g. GDPR/CCPA) here as applicable.]
8. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and users 18 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new date.
